 Clan Rules & Information
Forums and Clan Chat RulesBrief Overview: - No Spying or Multi-Clanning
- Keep language clean
- Have respect for other clan members and the staff
- Make sure you respect COPPA
- Insightful and positive posts and topics, must be more than 3 words. Further rules are found below
- Keep clan clean of all unwanted pictures or discussions
============================================================================== - Forum Rules
- Mischief
- Spying & Multi-Clanning: If you are found to already belong to another group of players upon applying, with use of one of but not limited to; Forums, Clan Chat, Website, IRC, Vent, or Teamspeak you will be henceforth banned from our Forums and any related Clan usages. Exceptions for this rule are as follows: Teams for PVM (Player vs. Monster), Minigame Teams, Distraction and Diversion Teams. If you are unsure about whether you fall under either of the above categories, feel free to contact any High Council or Leader for further clarification.
- Language: While our Forums are free for any account to use we monitor the quality and content of posts closely. The language of all the players should be acceptable to any member of the clan or visitor. Excessive cursing is not accepted on the forums and we have a censor to deal with the most severe words. If you feel there is a word missing, let us know. Although we do have a censor, that does not entitle you to let the censor do all the work. Also flaming is not tolerated. If you ever feel like you have been mistreated or someone makes you mad enough to the point you want to flame them you should report them to any staff member immediately and they will take appropriate disciplinary measures.
- Respect: Respect for each other and other players is a key to any clan. It is for this reason that any Staff members have the ability to monitor the forums to maintain a clean and respectable site for all visitors and members alike. If you feel that another member is doing something wrong simply let the Staff know, we can help the situation and hopefully render a positive conclusion. Any disrespect found in the forums can easily be reported by the little “!” in the bottom of any post. If you feel that another member/visitor has disrespected you, there is no need to seek vengeance. Let the staff know and they will take care of it forthwith.
- Age: Upon joining the clan you either agree that you are 13 years or older or otherwise meet the terms of COPPA. If there is any false giving in your account the owners of TPL and eebox.net are not held responsible. It is generally wise to join the clan if you are older than 13 because of the mature members that are the majority of TPL users.
- Posting: The following rules are for the benefit of the clan and are to be followed closely except if otherwise stated.
- Topics must relate to the Forum that they are made under. A discussion about Jello does not belong in the Runescape section. If for any reason you feel your topic fits better in another section then let a member of the Staff know and they will move it to the correct Forum. If the staff feels that a topic does not fit in a section of the forums they will do one of the following; Move it to the correct forum, Lock it, or delete it. Locking a topic mainly implies the topic was spam, a pointless topic or end of discussion on the current topic. Deleting a topic implies it contains harmful material or unwanted content.
- Posts must relate to the Topic they are made under. Any post that does not fit in with the Topic will be deleted. The user may also be warned. A simple way to tell if your post fits with the topic is to ask yourself if you are answering or providing a discussion to the best of your abilities. Any member has the right to a well managed Topic and can report any posts he deems unacceptable. “Trolling” is not accepted in TPL and will result in 2 warnings then further action will be taken.
-Trolling (Definition): A post that has no real discussion value and is posted purely for the reason to cause disorder among the posters.
- Sexual Content. As many of our members are below the 18/21/etc TPL has taken a no Sexual content approach to maintain a clean Forum experience. This means any links of drawn, computerized, or real images are forbidden. Any links to videos of drawn, computerized, or real images are forbidden. Any posted video or pictures of the above types are forbidden. If none of the types convey a post’s contents the Staff has a right to judge for themselves the approach to take. Any violation of this rule will result in your account being warned, muted, or banned and the links/images removed.
- Good Grammar. Using any variation of languages such as but not excusive to Leet (1337), Slang, or Gang terms is frowned upon. Depending on the severity, a warning might be issued; the Staff is urged to use their own discretion.
- Double Posting. Do not post twice in a row in any topic. Doing so will result in a warning and your posts being edited. Do not post two topics of similar topics purely to gain more views. Exceptions to the Double Posting rule are only allowed in; logs (records of your accomplishments), so as to keep your followers update and the Random Post section of the clan. Any Rules found in topic about posting preferences are given higher authority.
- Grave digging. Meaning to post on a topic older than (by TPL’s definition) 2 weeks old. This helps keep the forums clean and users from gaining ridiculous post counts. Any post found having been posted after 14 days will result in a warning. Please create a new topic if you would like to continue the same type of conversation.
- Length. The length of posts is incredibly important because otherwise members could simply post in every new topic and become a nuisance. Posts must be longer than 3 words and contain at least 1 sentence. “Gratz man!” is not acceptable. “Congratulations <insert member name here>, you have gone above and beyond what I have expected of you!” is perfectly acceptable. Exceptions to this rule exist only in game topics in which you have to post less than 3 words.
- Spam. Any post found to have no purpose or to otherwise inflict on any of the above rules may be deleted or edited. If you feel any hesitation about any of these rules, contact a member of the Staff.
- Signatures/Avatars. Signatures help add a sense of personalization to the forums yet an overly large or intrusive signature may dampen that same goal. A maximum of 3 links are allowed in any signature and exceptions are not made. The images can be any size but will automatically resize to prevent page deformation and overly large pages. Signatures should remain a length roughly equal to section 2 (Clan Chat). Any content in your signature can be edited if it is deemed inappropriate or offensive. Avatars are a further personalization of the forums, yet they are there for positive reasons and as such should not contain any images that are deemed inappropriate by the staff. They can be edited if need be.
- If you have any further questions or would like clarification, do not hesitate to contact any member of the staff who would be more than happy to aid you. Remember that these rules are here for the clans benefit and should not hinder the progress or positive atmosphere of the clan forums.
- Clan Chat
- Respect: Any foul language, offensive material, or otherwise unwelcome chat entering the chat may be taken in as evidence for a ban, kick, or mute from the channel. Disrespect in the Clan chat is unwelcome and is will result in actions being taken against your account in relation to TPL.
- Spam: Any repetitive quick chat or one line messages that serve no purpose but to aggravate or cause confusion will result in those message being used to ban/mute/kick your account from our clan chat.
- Good Grammar is expected in the clan chat and members will not look kindly upon any purposeful annoyance caused by said grammar.
- Any of the above rules for Forums can also be used as rules in the Clan Chat, and vice versa.
Any of these rules may be changed at any time without the clan’s knowledge. We will do our best to maintain these rules at all times. By posting an application you accept these rules as your rules in your time here with TPL. Any retired members must also take these rules to heart. Any other ranks on the forums or clan chat will also be held accountable.
